- This is a first draft, not legal advice. A lawyer who knows Indian data-protection law (DPDP Act 2023) must review it before launch.
- Fill every yellow place: the date, your database region, your city, and the days to delete. Your name and email are already filled.
- Age: this draft allows 16 and above, with a guardian confirmation for 16–17 and some topics for 18+ only. Indian law (DPDP Act 2023) treats under-18s as children and may require verified parental consent. The app only asks the user to tick a box. A lawyer must say if that is enough before launch.
- Check these facts are still true when you publish: no advertising, no analytics tools, no location use, Google's free Gemini service in use.
- Google Play also asks for a Data safety form, a Health apps declaration, and a web link to request account deletion. Section 8 covers the deletion link.
Privacy Policy and Terms of Use
1. Who we are
Her Honest Space ("the app", "we") is run by Priyanka Jaswani. You can reach us at herhonestspace1315@gmail.com.
2. Who can use the app
The app is for people aged 16 and above. When you set up your profile, you enter your date of birth so we can check this. If you are under 16, please do not use the app. Talk to a doctor, a trusted adult, or one of the helplines in section 11.
Some topics are for adults only (18 and above) and are hidden from younger users.
2A. If you are 16 or 17
- A parent or guardian must know that you use the app and agree to it. We ask you to confirm this when you set up your profile.
- You will not see topics that are for 18 and above only.
- We tell the AI that you are under 18. It answers in an age-appropriate way, does not give explicit sexual detail, and encourages you to talk to a trusted adult or a doctor.
- We do not show advertisements to anyone, and we do not track anyone for advertising.
- A parent or guardian can write to herhonestspace1315@gmail.com to ask us to delete your information.
[Lawyer: Indian law (DPDP Act 2023) may require verifiable parental consent for people under 18. Confirm what is needed and whether the confirmation step in the app is enough.]
3. What information we collect
- Account: your email address and password. Your password is handled by Google Firebase. We cannot read it.
- Profile: your nickname, date of birth, language, and, only if you choose to add them, your allergies and medical history.
- Cycle and body information: your period start and end dates, and your daily check-ins (mood, flow, and body feelings such as cramps).
- Remembered notes: things you ask the app to remember, for example "remember that I get bad cramps on day 1".
- Your questions: what you type in "Ask". We do not save your chats. See section 5.
- Your agreement: the date you agreed to this policy and, if you are 16 or 17, that you confirmed a parent or guardian knows you use the app.
- Only on your phone: your PIN (stored in a scrambled form) and your mood for the day.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or microphone. [Check this is still true.]
4. Why we use your information
- To run the app: show your cycle day, predictions, reminders, and your daily check-ins.
- To make answers fit you: your mood and, only if you switch it on, your age, allergies, medical history, and remembered notes help the AI answer more carefully and kindly.
- To show content that is right for your age.
- To keep your account safe, and to answer your requests.
We do not sell your information, we do not show advertisements, and we do not use it to track you for advertising.
5. Your questions and Google's AI
When you ask a question, the app sends it to a small helper service we run on Cloudflare. The helper adds our instructions and sends the question to Google's Gemini AI, then returns the answer. Along with your question we may send your mood and body check-in, and, only if you switched on "Let the AI use these details", your age, allergies, medical history, and remembered notes.
We also tell the AI whether you are under 18, so it can answer in an age-appropriate way. We do not send your date of birth for this.
We do not store your questions or the answers. Google and Cloudflare handle the question while answering it. [Check this paragraph: we currently use Google's free Gemini service. Under Google's terms for the free service, Google may use questions to improve its products and may have them reviewed by people. Update this if you move to Google's paid service.]
Please do not type your full name, phone number, address, or other details that identify you into the AI. The AI can make mistakes. It does not replace a doctor.
6. Where your information is kept and who handles it
- Google Firebase (login and database) stores your account, profile, cycle information, and remembered notes. Region: [your Firestore region, for example Mumbai (asia-south1)].
- Cloudflare runs the helper that passes your questions to the AI.
- Google (Gemini) creates the AI answers.
These companies may process information on servers outside India. We only use them to run the app.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information until you delete it. When you delete your data, your account, profile, cycle dates, daily check-ins, and remembered notes are removed. Copies may stay in system backups for a short time [confirm period with your lawyer] and are then deleted.
8. Your choices and rights
- See and correct: open My Profile and Cycle in the app to see and change your information.
- Download: My Space → Your data → Download my data.
- Delete: My Space → Your data → Delete my data. This removes your account and all your information and cannot be undone.
- Delete without the app: email herhonestspace1315@gmail.com from the email address you registered with, with the subject "Delete my account". We will delete your information [within 30 days].
- Remembered notes: see and delete them in My Space → What I remember.
- Withdraw consent or make a complaint: write to us at herhonestspace1315@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India, once it is operating. [Lawyer to confirm.]
9. Keeping your information safe
Our database is set so that each person can read and change only their own information. The PIN lock keeps other people who use your phone out of the app, but it is not strong encryption. Please keep your phone locked, do not share your password, and log out if you lend your phone. No system is completely secure, and we will tell you if something affects you.
10. Reminders and notifications
If you use period reminders, notifications can appear on your phone's lock screen. You can turn them off in your phone's settings.
11. Not medical advice, and emergencies
Her Honest Space gives general education and support. It is not a doctor, does not diagnose anything, and does not replace medical care. Cycle predictions are estimates and are not a method of birth control. If you are unwell or in an emergency, see a doctor or call 112. Helplines: Women's Helpline 1091; Tele-MANAS (mental health) 14416. If you are thinking of harming yourself, please call one of these right now.
12. Terms of use
- Give true information, and keep your login and PIN private.
- Use the app for yourself. Do not misuse it, copy it, or try to break into it or into other people's accounts.
- Links to other websites are for your information. We do not control those sites.
- We may change or stop features. We may close accounts that break these terms.
- We work hard to be accurate, but we cannot promise the app is error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions you make using general information from the app. [Lawyer to review this clause.]

13. Changes to this policy

जब तक आप डिलीट नहीं करतीं, हम आपकी जानकारी रखते हैं। डेटा डिलीट करने पर आपका अकाउंट, प्रोफ़ाइल, चक्र की तारीखें, रोज़ के चेक-इन और याद रखे गए नोट्स हट जाते हैं। सिस्टम बैकअप में कॉपी कुछ समय तक रह सकती है [अवधि अपने वकील से पक्की करें] और फिर हटा दी जाती है।
8. आपके विकल्प और अधिकार

9. आपकी जानकारी की सुरक्षा
हमारा डेटाबेस इस तरह सेट है कि हर व्यक्ति सिर्फ़ अपनी जानकारी पढ़ और बदल सकती है। PIN लॉक आपके फ़ोन का इस्तेमाल करने वाले दूसरे लोगों को ऐप से दूर रखता है, पर यह मज़बूत एन्क्रिप्शन नहीं है। कृपया फ़ोन लॉक रखें, पासवर्ड किसी को न बताएँ, और फ़ोन किसी को देते समय लॉग आउट कर लें। कोई भी सिस्टम पूरी तरह सुरक्षित नहीं होता, और अगर कुछ आपको प्रभावित करे तो हम आपको बताएँगे।
10. रिमाइंडर और नोटिफ़िकेशन
अगर आप पीरियड रिमाइंडर इस्तेमाल करती हैं, तो नोटिफ़िकेशन आपके फ़ोन की लॉक स्क्रीन पर दिख सकते हैं। आप इन्हें फ़ोन की सेटिंग में बंद कर सकती हैं।
11. यह चिकित्सा सलाह नहीं है, और आपात स्थिति
Her Honest Space सामान्य शिक्षा और सहारा देता है। यह डॉक्टर नहीं है, किसी बीमारी का निदान नहीं करता, और चिकित्सा देखभाल की जगह नहीं लेता। चक्र की भविष्यवाणियाँ अनुमान हैं और गर्भनिरोध का तरीका नहीं हैं। अगर आप बीमार हैं या आपात स्थिति में हैं, तो डॉक्टर से मिलें या 112 पर कॉल करें। हेल्पलाइन: महिला हेल्पलाइन 1091; टेली-मानस (मानसिक स्वास्थ्य) 14416। अगर आप खुद को नुकसान पहुँचाने के बारे में सोच रही हैं, तो अभी इनमें से किसी पर कॉल करें।
